Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. – Luke 10:19

REFERENCE
Luke 10:17-19

Man’s greatest enemy from the Garden of Eden is Satan; he steals people’s joy, peace, health, etc., he kills businesses, vision, purpose, dreams and ultimately destroys lives. Nevertheless, Jesus came, paid the price for man’s redemption and gave us victory over the tormentor – Satan. The biggest thing Jesus did for us was defeat Satan.

Because of what Jesus did, you have been delivered out of the authority of Satan; he has no legal right to reign over you again, and you are now the absolute master over satanic forces. Also, you are now restored to your former place of authority and dominion as was the mandate from the beginning. You can now hold sway over every situation in life by the status of your new order of life and existence.

Double-jeopardy is a situation where the same crime is prosecuted and paid for twice by an offender, it is legally wrong in society. In the same way, Christ paid in full for your redemption so you can be free from every accusation of Satan. Therefore, it is legally wrong for Satan to exact upon you…he doesn’t have the right to steal your health, kill your finances or destroy your life.

Today’s text reveals that Jesus has already given us authority over the power of the enemy. So, it is our duty to vehemently resist the plan of Satan from coming to pass in our lives. We therefore must stand boldly and exercise that authority as Jesus charged us in Matthew 18:18, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
