“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” ~ Matthew 1:21

Matthew 1:18-25
The biggest problem that mankind has (or had) is the sin problem. By Adam’s treason in the Garden of Eden against God, sin separated man from his fellowship with God; it robbed him of his divine nature, glory, perfect knowledge, and immortality. Mankind was now subject to the forces of nature and became a victim when. Indeed, he was supposed to rule as a king.
Sin damns the soul to hell and makes a man the worst version of himself. Sin will make a man covet what is another man’s, hate him, and even kill him. Sin has ruined friendships, marriages, businesses, communities, and nations. Sin has brought great men down from the heights of their accomplishments; it is responsible for man’s undiagnosed emotional and physical ailments.
Sin created an imbalance in the ecosystem of God’s creation; hence, beyond the immediate and universal consequence of Adam’s sin is that all the vices we experience today stem from sin in the heart of man: crime, sexual deviance, divorce, corruption in government, racial prejudice, abortions, etc. The greatest need of man is the forgiveness and remission of his sin. However, the question is, “Who is fit to deliver man from his original sin and the consequences of sin?”
The greatest blessing of Christmas is that God sent a Savior in Christ Jesus to save humanity from sin, its consequences, and its punishment. How sweet the sound was when the Angel told Joseph about the baby and that He would save His people from their sins. Imagine a world where the sin problem has been totally dealt with, where men can go before God with no sense of guilt.
When Jesus walked on the streets of Jerusalem, He demonstrated this mission by often saying, “Your sins are forgiven.” This reveals His divinity and the judicial privilege He has in the court of heaven, as He forever lives to make intercessions for us. This Christmas, turn any sinful struggle over to Jesus; if you have never invited Him into your heart or you are backslidden, ask Him to come into your heart and forgive you, for He will save His people from their sins. Try Him today.
