“…Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” – Luke 1:36-37
REFERENCE:
The news that a virgin would have a child without ‘knowing’ a man was preposterous for Mary. She was to expect what had never happened before to happen in her life, and as expected, she wondered how. To bolster her faith in the impossible, the angel told her, “Elizabeth has conceived, and she that was termed barren is six months pregnant.”
Elizabeth and her husband, Zechariah, were well advanced in years. They were childless, and their chance of having one was slim; yet, by the word of the Lord, Elizabeth conceived a child. Six months after, angel Gabriel told Virgin Mary to expect a pregnancy. The Christmas season is a reminder that the impossible is possible as long as God is involved in the process.
Are you facing an impossible situation? God made a way all through the scriptures for people in impossible situations. Sarah and Elizabeth were barren in their old age. Gideon had to hide because the Midianites had impoverished his homeland. Job lost his family and everything he had, and restoration seemed impossible. David faced years of instability because of Saul’s hatred. Joseph went to jail for a crime he did not commit, and it seemed his dream was dead. Naaman, a military general, suffered from an incurable disease.
These people, at some point, had their backs against the wall, but God broke through for them; He made the end of the matter better than the beginning! Beloved, your case is no different. With man, it might seem impossible, but not with God; for with God, all things are possible.
Be at peace; God is making impossible situations become possibilities for you. There is no better season to expect the miraculous to happen than in this season of miracles – CHRISTMAS!
When you look at what confronts you: the needs calling for your attention, the responsibility you bear for your family, the contrary medical diagnosis, the desires that seem unmet, and the fact that time is not waiting for you, remember that Elizabeth conceived a son in her old age; and she that was called barren carried the pregnancy till birth. For with God, nothing will be impossible. HALLELUJAH!
You will testify, in Jesus’ name!
