When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit. – Judges 8:4

Judges 7:21-25, 8:4-12
Some of you may be familiar with this popular saying: “Life is not a walk in the park.” Indeed, as Believers, as long as we are still on this side of eternity, we will always have situations that will challenge our faith. Sometimes, we may find ourselves going from one challenge to another, but in all God wants us to stay steadfast, immovable and true to the faith; He wants us not only to get to the finish line of what He has called us to do and to be, but also to FINISH STRONG. He doesn’t wait for us at the starting point but at the finish line because therein lies our glory.
Getting to the finish line and finishing strong will require tenacity, endurance, staying power; it will take strength of moral character, and it will take GUTS! Even after we attain success in some areas of our lives, those successes usually come with new challenges and so we must CONTINUE to work even harder and stay consistent to overcome these new challenges, and grow till we come into our glory or till we get to the finish line, being confident that He who began the good work in you, will be faithful to bring it to a good conclusion.
Gideon’s escapades from Judges Chapters 6-8 epitomizes someone who got to the finish line because of his tenacity and guts! Even after he captured and killed two major enemies of the Israelites- the two ‘Princes’ of Midian (Oreb & Zeeb) in battle, Gideon didn’t stop to revel in his success because he knew the war wasn’t over as long as the ‘Kings’ of Midian- the masterminds of the war were still alive. So though exhausted and tired, he continued to pursue…
