“So, I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” ~ Ezekiel 22:30
REFERENCE:
Bad leaders governed Israel. Their example plunged the land into idolatry, oppression, robbery, corruption, murders, and extortion. Her religious leaders compromised God’s word and produced weak saints. The land was doomed to punishment; God wished it wasn’t, but He could do nothing about it because justice demanded it. Hence, He sought a man who would plead for mercy and stay the hand of judgment over the land. Today still, God seeks a man.
What God sought a man for was to pray for Israel. It took God searching because prayer is often a challenge for many Christians. Many have become lax in prayer because they are preoccupied with the things of this world – TV series, social media, work, etc. If we understood the place and power of prayer – if we saw it the way God sees it, we would stir ourselves to pray.
Prayer is a partnership with God, which is the coming together of two or more people to execute a thing. God wants you to partner with Him in prayers to establish His will on earth; this brings God onto the scene. He seeks a man to open portals for Him to enter man’s affairs through prayer partnership. So, why do you need this divine partnership?
a. You are contending with the spiritual host of darkness who want to ensure that specific negative patterns continue in your life; so, you must fight the good fight of faith with the mighty weapons of God to pull them down (Ephesians 6:12).
b. Decaying and worsening issues around you need to be reversed and recovered. Wickedness needs to be restrained in your community – the surge of prostitution, drugs, fraud, sexual perversions, police brutality, infant mortality, etc., needs to be reversed.
c. Your five senses limit you, and you can easily make mistakes; so you need this prayer partnership. Prayer activates the sixth sense – the realm of faith. Prayer reveals things to you with the help of the Spirit, who tells you things to come (John 16:13).
d. You are limited in resources, ability, time, and space, but with prayer, you can scale through these barriers. Prayer positions you to lock hands with the God of heaven and earth; your power and influence are multiplied greatly at that point. (Matthew 8:5-8).
Imagine what you can accomplish in prayer with God as your partner – what power you can generate, facts you can subdue, victories you can win, and what unpleasant verdicts you can reverse just because you partner with God. It is why God seeks a man. Take advantage of your Partner, get into prayers, and begin to legislate, reverse destructive cycles, and decree grace.
