“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!” ~ Luke 15:17
REFERENCE:
The journey into the year’s second half is still in its early stages. It is good to closely examine your life and make certain adjustments and decisions about the rest of the year. Do you feel grounded by past mistakes or sad that you didn’t achieve what you hoped you would have by now, hearing that voice within saying, “I am better than this?” You are in line for a change.
God is not done with you yet! You are not stuck in a rut; there is a way out! Your better days are not behind you but ahead of you. You have not seen the best of you yet. God makes our paths shine brighter and brighter. You may not like where you are, but who says that is where you will always be? Our journey is towards glory! Don’t despair, things can change. The Holy Spirit releases grace for supernatural advancement and breakthrough power over you.
The story of the prodigal son speaks volumes. He set out with a goal for financial independence, missed his target through a series of bad decisions, found himself in a bad situation of extreme lack, and every effort at self-redemption failed. However, he plotted his way out and got out of life more than he deserved. He reached a point where he said, “I am better than this.” His is a story of second chances. You will get a second chance in the second half of the year.
To achieve a better outcome in the future, have a vision of a preferred tomorrow – a realization that you can be better and have better. See your way forward. Discard images of negativity, people who failed, or dire economic realities. See success! If you lose your vision for a preferred tomorrow, you lose your reason for living. The prodigal son had a keen vision of what his life could still be. He did not allow his situation to blind him to the possibilities that lay ahead.
God does not want you to stagnate in the place of your last mistakes; He can bring beauty out of your ashes; He works all things for the good of those who love Him. If you could take a peek into God’s book concerning you, there is no plan for failure or defeat. His plans for you are of good, victory, and fulfillment. So, pull yourself together and say, “I am better than this.” Remember, you are not alone in this journey. God is with you, guiding your steps and shaping your future.

+ Lord, I confess and declare that You will do me good. I will look back shortly and see the beauty You have brought out of my life and situation.
+ Lord, I hold on to the vision You gave me in days past. I shall see its fulfillment in Jesus’ name.
