A man’s heart heat plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” ~ Genesis 26:3
REFERENCE:
Planning is a great component in achieving your dreams. It is a scripture secret to success that we can see from the order of events in the Genesis creation account. A plan is a set of intended activities through which one expects to achieve a goal. It is a detailed proposal for doing or accomplishing a thing. A plan is what transforms your vision into a strategy or actionable steps.
Our text reveals that you must have a plan before you expect God to direct your steps; there must be something for God to work with or bless. By failing to plan, you are planning to fail; if you don’t know where you are going, you will end up anywhere/nowhere, but planning increases your possibility for success and ensures that you arrive at your destination.
There is this known scripture: “The horse is prepared for the battle, but victory is of the Lord.” We often focus on the fact that God gives victory but without preparing the horse, training the soldiers, sharpening the sword, and having a battle formation, victory may elude us. Sadly, this is the case with many believers; they spend a lot of time praying and fasting but rarely sit down to draw out a battle plan or a workable strategy to achieve goals they have identified.
Planning helps you to weigh your options, check your resources (financial, material, or human), and consider external factors. These will guide your actions and the direction to go. Jesus told of a king who decided against prosecuting a war because his opponent was better equipped, and of a man who wanted to build a tower, who hired an architect to draw the plans and a quantity surveyor to prepare the bill of quantities. These documents would determine his action steps.
Planning is bringing the future into the present so you can do something about it now. If God has given you a dream, develop a short, mid, and long-term plan. An hour of planning can save you 10 hours of doing. Success is rarely ever an accident. It results from a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort. It is a tested scripture secret to success.

PRAYER:
+ Dear Lord, give me the mental capacity and discipline to sit and draw out a plan.
+ May I not be a victim of presumption and error. I receive the grace to take ‘calculated’ steps.
+ O Lord, I ask that You breathe Your blessing upon every plan I have laid out before You.
