“The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine.” ~ Proverbs 4:18 (MSG)
REFERENCE:
Proverbs 4:18 (MSG)
Deuteronomy 33:25 says, “As your days are, so shall your strength be.” God wants your life to shine brighter as you grow older so that the glory of your latter is greater than that of the former. Being stagnated and stale in life doesn’t look like God’s plan for His children. God is committed to your progress; you must refuse to live a dull and lackluster life.
A man who walks with God can be sure that life will progressively get better for him. Why? Because as he beholds God’s face in fellowshipping through prayer and bible study, he is transformed to reveal God’s ever-increasing glory by the Spirit of God. The saints who walked with God in the bible shone brighter the longer they lived – David, Job, Daniel, Esther, Joseph, etc. “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace.”
The secret to a life that shines brighter as one grows older is obedience to God. When a man is conscious of God’s presence, committed to obedience, and seeking Him in his decisions, he will know true peace. When a man has peace, his chances of living a long, fulfilled life increase. The older David lived, the more valuable he became to Israel; he became the lamp of Israel.
Be committed to a life of improvement. As you celebrate a new birthday, think of something that you can work to improve in your life:
- Dressing
- Learning something new
- Reading some books
- Devoting time to family or friendships
- Traveling to a new place
- Setting new savings and investment goals
You have a part to play to shine brighter as you get older.
What expense will you incur to shine brighter spiritually, become healthier, be more eligible for marriage and employment, and function better at work? Aging is not meant to be a burden but a blessing to you and those connected to you. Lamentations 3:27 says, “It is good for a man to bear the burden in his youth.” Now is the time to commit to valuable habits that will make you live longer and shine brighter. I decree that your end will be better than yours now.
