“Then as he (Elijah) lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, ‘Arise and eat.'” – 1 Kings 19:5 (NKJV).
REFERENCE:
What are angels? “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14). Often in the bible, God sent these heavenly envoys to minister to His saints in need, to offer hope, give guidance, protect, and bring messages of hope as in the Messiah’s birth. God still has His angelic messengers today, and you are on their mission list.
Elijah faced a life-threatening situation. He was forced to be a fugitive despite the great wins he recently recorded for God’s kingdom. He got to the point of emotional and physical exhaustion and laid down, hungry, under a broom tree. He was overwhelmed with hopelessness and helplessness, afraid of the future. He drifted into sleep. The next thing he felt was an angel’s touch. That touch would mark the turning point in his life, mission, and ministry.
Nothing is as refreshing as experiencing a personal touch from God amidst tiredness and discouragement. When all our strength is gone, and we are out of options, God sends His angels to minister to us. Zechariah had lost hope of having a child until his visit by an angel. An angel came to rescue Peter on the eve of his execution. The coming of an angel is the coming of God.
God is not unaware of your battles, struggles, and fears; He is aware of your expectations. No matter where you have found yourself on the spectrum of life, He has angels that can minister to your needs, no matter what. We often ignore the ministry of angels today. Still, they are as present with us to minister to us today as previously. David said, “The angel of the Lord encamps round about those who fear Him and delivers them.” Receive an angel’s touch today.
Learn to rest in God despite changing seasons around you. Expect angelic visitations. May you experience a dimension of the angel’s touch that will change your life, answer your questions, meet your needs, and comfort you. God cares about every part of your life. He has an angel for every need that may arise. So, like Elijah, get up, eat the angel’s meal (ministry), and move on.
