“That night the king could not sleep. So, one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.” ~ Esther 6:1
REFERENCE:
Imagine if everyone you ever showed kindness to remembered you and paid you back. Well, it doesn’t always work like that. Men forget, but only God remembers. The reward of kindness often comes from unexpected sources and, sometimes, from the same person to whom kindness was done. When God is set to remember and reward you, He will give kings sleepless nights.
Mordecai gave information that foiled a hostile takeover of power, spared the king’s life, and averted a national disaster. The kingdom of Persia was indebted to him, but no one mentioned his name on the evening news; he got no national award nor an invitation to dine with the king. The king continued as if nothing had happened as Mordecai returned to his duty post at the gate.
In all of this, God remembered. He would ensure that Mordecai got his reward. The king went to bed as usual but found no sleep that night. His eyes were wide open as he tossed and turned on his bed. God caused this insomnia; Mordecai must be rewarded. God put a thought in the king’s mind – “Get me the palace journal and read to me.” Upon reading, the good deed of Mordecai was discovered, and the king asked that he be rewarded and honored.
God’s sense of justice will not let Him forget your good deeds or labor for His kingdom. When God’s time comes, it will be a double honor (Mordecai rode on the king’s horse). If Joseph had been rewarded by the Butler or earlier than he was, he would never have sat on a throne in Egypt. But the king had a sleepless night when it was God’s time. It is your time for a reward!
It is your season of remembrance. The Lord will open His book of remembrance and give kings sleepless nights because of you. Kings will send for you this season. Doors will open to the palace and the company of great men. I see someone given a parcel of land because of a kind deed. Just as Mordecai rode the king’s horse, God will arrange for you to get a car in the next three months. Expect unexpected gifts of things you cannot afford. Remember that even if kings sleep and forget, the King of Kings neither sleeps nor slumbers. He will reward you.
