THE STONE’S BEEN ROLLED AWAY

But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here…” – Mark 16:6

You will very well remember that Pilate, at the behest of the chief priests and Pharisees, commanded the tomb of Jesus to be secured with a large stone, sealed with an ‘official seal,’ and also that a guard of soldiers should be set around it. All these were attempts by the powers of hell to seal the fate of the ‘crucified’ Savior in the tomb. It was to ensure that there was no hope of his coming out of the grave.

However, what Pilate and co. did not know is that it wasn’t the stone that kept Jesus in the grave, neither was it even death of itself; He was there because He had unfinished business. He had engaged the forces of darkness in a dangerous conflict and victory hanged in the balance. For those days, it seemed victory went to the enemy, for the Champion of our salvation ‘fell’ before the forces of darkness and it seemed our defeat was sealed. He paid fully for our sin and sickness, and that was why He remained in the grave-prison until He made full satisfaction of the Justice of God.

On Sunday morning, victory was going to switch sides. Just as Dagon, the Philistine god fell before the Ark of covenant, Satan’s troop was going to fall before the Christ; and just as God commanded light to shine out of darkness on the first day of creation, Jesus (the light of the world) would shine out of the darkness of the grave on the first day of the week.

On that Sunday morning, Mary and co ‘LOOKED UP’ and saw that in spite of Pilate’s and the Pharisees’ attempts, the stone was rolled away and Jesus came out victorious from the grave. He did not jailbreak from His grave-prison, No, Heaven sent an illustrious messenger down; an officer of the court of heaven came with a warrant for His release and to open the prison gates for Him. He had a FAIR and LEGAL discharge obtained from heaven, having satisfied all the demands of justice.

As we ‘look up’ to God, we also can rejoice knowing that whatever stone life or Satan has rolled in our way, to keep us trapped, buried, imprisoned in an unfortunate cycle, hidden from seeing good, etc., was rolled away when Christ rose from the grave. When He arose, the bible says many in Jerusalem also came out of their graves and were seen by witnesses (Matthew 27:52); that which limited them was taken out of the way. The saying then is true that when He arose, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:
I pray and speak over you this morning, by the Spirit of God, that whatever good thing is dead in you or in your life will come alive in Jesus name. I declare that God will turn every triumph of the devil in any area of your life into your victory and He will overthrow your accuser. I pray that the light of God will break through every darkness in your life. You will come out of all works of darkness – witchcraft, bondages, bad habits, etc. I declare that resurrection power quickens your body right now to receive the fruit of the womb and for healings from diabetes, high blood pressure, mental distress, bodily weaknesses, etc. All are healed right now, in Jesus name. May the God of heaven send an angel (an officer of the court of heaven) to come and roll away every stone that has been rolled against your progress, in Jesus name. Look up and rejoice, the stone’s been rolled away!
