“And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.” – II Kings 7:5
REFERENCE
II Kings 7:1-8
Twilight is the period of the evening between daylight and darkness; it represents a time of gradual decline or when old age begins to set in. The lepers we spoke about yesterday decided to move in the evening – when the hope of good fortunes was dim, and a change in their situation looked unattainable, yet they moved. They embarked on a twilight trip.
The fear of failure or what may go wrong stops many people from pursuing their destiny. These lepers (likely in the twilight of life) moved toward the enemy’s camp, unafraid for their lives and the risks involved. Making a move demands that you count the cost, paint the worst scenario, and prepare for or demystify it; it will lose its power to stop you.
Battles are often fought in the daytime. However, the Syrian army heard an advancing army as the lepers moved towards them at twilight (evening) and fled. You may think there are better times to pursue your goals than this but make a move now; there are people who will only rise to partner with, assist, or help you once you make a move. While the lepers sat, the Syrian camp remained intact.
The lepers left the city gate knowing that the Syrian camp was intact; they were ready to surrender to them. However, it was when they moved that the Syrian soldiers fled. You will never act if you wait for everything to ‘line up’ before you act. The priests carrying God’s ark stepped into the Jordan River before it parted. If you will do your part, God is committed to doing His part. He does not first sort out the Syrians; He gives you a vision/word and stirs you up.
God will not tell you all that will happen when you move; make a move, and God will sort out everything else. He wants you to walk with Him by faith; then, you will discover that what you fear is not real and that what you think may fail may succeed. Are you in a twilight situation where your chances are slim, age is not on your side, and prospects look dim? God is calling you to take the twilight trip; just as the lepers were surprised, God has a pleasant surprise for you.

PRAYER:
+ Lord, I receive the inner strength not to allow the twilight of life to stop me from making a move.
+ Father, begin to speak to men on my behalf and set open doors before me as I make a move.
+ Challenge the status quo in your life (joblessness, debt, lack, borrowing, illness, marital unrest, in-law issues) – Declare, ‘Enough is enough!’ Nothing will remain the same again.
