REFERENCE:
God wants you to experience victory in your mind first and then in your life. Since strongholds are incorrect thinking patterns based on error, the right weapon for tearing them down is ‘meditating on and applying the Word.’ Jesus said continuing in the truth of His Word (that we know) would bring victory over every satanic stronghold of the mind. The foundation of Strongholds are errors, but they must destroyed through truth.
If you meditate on satan’s lies, you will start to see yourself as a failure, but if you meditate on God’s Word, you will feel victorious. Just as a gardener cultivates his plot to keep it free from weeds and grow the plants he desires, tend the garden of your mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivate the fruits of right, helpful, and pure thoughts.
There is a way out of every assault of satan on the mind/life. See practical ways you can win:
a. Think Your Way Out – Think the right thoughts. Thoughts are powerful and have creative ability. If thoughts can affect what or who you become, prioritize thinking the right thoughts. Think possibility thoughts, good thoughts, positive thoughts, etc. Renew your mind.
b. Make The Word Your Philosophy And Mindset – Be an ardent student of the Word; meditate on it, and consult it for decision-making. Let it be your guiding philosophy, standard for life, and mindset. Let it be what you measure every worldview by.
c. Belief In God’s Power To Give You Victory more than you fear satan’s power to wreak havoc in your life – God is committed to your success. Expect the best and not the worst about situations and yourself. Faith in God’s power and ability commits him to work for you.
d. Never Get Tired of casting down, arresting, overthrowing, and rooting out any contrary thoughts in your mind. Satan waits to strike. If satan is tireless in erecting filthy thoughts in your mind, commit to outlast him in casting them down. Chinua Achebe said, “Since hunters have learned to shoot without missing, Eneke the bird has learned to fly without perching.”
God won’t bring you into a situation where He cannot get you out of it. Every temptation has a way out – financial need, desire for a child, addiction, bondage, etc. You are not stuck in a rut if you are in God. Get into the Word of God and engage the covenant principles; don’t let your mind be satan’s toy. I pray His light will shine in your dark place and liberate you.
