“The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.” – Esther 2:17
REFERENCE:
Sometimes, we do not know how God works the events of life to cause things to fall into place for us. Who would have thought that Queen Vashti’s refusal to present herself to the king and his officials would have any connection to an unknown orphan girl in the backstreet of Persia? Well, that was what happened when favor took over. It still happens today. The setting of the sun setting on Vashti meant its rising on Esther.
God’s favor can best be described as inexplicable preferential treatment, an aura of goodwill, divine advantage, and special privileges arranged by God for a man based on God’s choice and not the man’s merits. It is God leaning towards a man in kindness. God often shows His favor to seemingly undeserving people. Esther was an orphan Jewess in a foreign land; a second-class citizen. At best, Esther could have been a trader or a maid to a Persian lord, but favor took over and the story changed. When favor takes over, even the unfortunate events of your life will begin to work to your advantage.
Esther’s journey to the throne is a story of ‘when favor takes over:’ The captivity of her forefathers, the disobedience of Vashti, the death of her parents, her adoption by uncle Mordecai, her nomination for the beauty parade, Hegai (the women’s custodian) giving her special beauty treatments, the appointment of seven choice masseuses and beauty therapists, Hegai’s counsel on the day she appeared before King Ahasuerus, the king’s approval, and her crowning. At every turn, God’s favor worked all things together for her good.
When favor takes over, it will give you what your effort cannot, and take you to places your sweat cannot. Favor is not a respecter of age, race, learning, or pocket. God has appointed you for His favor because you are in Christ; “For the law came through Moses, but grace (favor) and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17). Therefore, I, by divine authority, activate the manifestation of favor in all areas of your life. May it be like sweet perfume all over your life. Let good be attracted to you; every bad event turns around for your good now. Let doors of opportunities open to you of their own accord. May God stir someone to remember and bless you with money. Let favor take over now, and blessings beyond your pedigree, learning, pocket, or merit, come to you. Let that which has been unjustly denied you come now, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus.
