“Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And…they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.” ~ John 8:3-4
REFERENCE:
Accusers brought the Woman in our text to the divine court. They referred to Moses’ law, which was written on stone, signifying that it cannot be altered and will not bend for anybody. They came with evidence and witnesses who claimed that the Woman was ‘caught’ in the ‘very act.’ But Jesus wrote in the sand to signify that any offense can be forgiven. He ignored their claim, concluded them as unreliable witnesses, dismissed their evidence, and discharged the Woman.
Let us continue to see legal provisions that can give us victory in courtroom prayers:
e. Inadmissible Evidence: Pieces of evidence form the grounds for satan’s accusation. In law courts, evidence can be inadmissible when it is irrelevant, prejudicial, hearsay, or obtained improperly (e.g., from an illegal arrest, unreasonable search, coercive interrogation, or under duress). Satan likes to use things we say thoughtlessly against us. Say in prayer, “I render every evidence (grounds for accusation) presented by the accuser as inadmissible, void, and invalid. I forbid satan to use any thoughtless words I uttered against me in heaven’s court.”
f. Refuse Double Jeopardy: This legal defense prevents a defendant/accused from being tried for the same crime twice. We were crucified with Christ, and we paid for every wrongdoing on the cross of Calvary. Paul said, “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? He has been justified. Who will condemn him? Christ already died for him.” Say, “I refuse to pay a second time for what Jesus already paid. I say no to double jeopardy.” Insistently refuse the devil to smuggle into your life something Jesus already suffered for.
g. The Fifth Amendment: In the American legal system, when you plead the Fifth Amendment, you are entitled to a jury trial and protected from double jeopardy, self-incrimination, and the government taking your property without compensation. It also gives you a right to a fair trial. As a believer, you can plead the blood of Jesus (like the Fifth Amendment); God honors it. Likewise, your case will be decided by a body of scriptures (jury), not by what the enemy says. Instead, the promise of God’s word will defend you. By pleading the blood, you cannot incriminate yourself; that is, satan cannot use what you did or said against you.
Stay tuned. More to come…
