Truly God is good to Israel… – Psalms 73:1
REFERENCE
Psalm 73:1-3
Your knowledge of God determines your relationship with Him. Nobody can fully know or comprehend God, because it will take eternity to study infinity; but knowing Him as a good God is a powerful tool against life’s circumstances.
But unfortunately, it is easy to forget God’s goodness when you are going through tough/challenging times; when things aren’t going according to your plans. You begin to doubt His goodness, compare yourself with others and dwell on what is not working, whilst forgetting all the gains you’ve experienced in Christ.
David almost stumbled from envying others, but then he looked at the big picture & understood the goodness of God. Like David all you need to do is just think back a little and you will understand how good God is and has has been to you.
Keep in memory how He delivered you from the car accident, gave you a child when the doctors gave up on you, sustained you when you didn’t have a job, kept you and the kids when your husband walked out, paid your fees, healed your marriage, etc.
Rather than charge God with evil as is often the case when things aren’t working, why not say like the psalmist, “Bless the LORD oh my soul and forget not all His benefits.”
